Am I eligible?
Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) is for Families of:
- Soldiers with orders in support of one of the following Deployments:
- Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
- Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)
- Global War on Terror (GWOT)
- Oversees Contingency Operations
- Operation Noble Eagle
- Army Recruiters
For married Soldiers, the spouse must be working, looking for work or attending school. The same policies will apply to unmarried legal parents living in the same household.
What will I receive?
Eligible Families receive:
- Help finding approved* child care in your community
- Fee assistance to help cover part of the cost of child care
How do I find an approved* provider?
- Contact Child Care Aware® at 1-800-424-2246 for a personal consultation
- Search online for providers already pre-qualified to serve Army Families in your area
- Sponsors with military orders in support of a deployment may temporarily receive fee assistance for licensed case during the period of deployment. However, fee assistance will be discontinued 60 days following return from deployment unless children are moved to an accredited child care provider. Initial selection of an accredited child care provider will prevent the necessity to change providers at a later date.
*Approved OMCC providers must meet all Army’s requirements. The provider must have state child care license and have received an inspection within the last 12 months.
