Operation: Military Child Care (OMCC)

Supports the temporary child care needs of military parents who are activated or deployed

Who is eligible?

  • Families/legal guardians of the children of National Guard & Reserve Service members who are currently activated or deployed
  • Families/legal guardians of the children of deployed active duty Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines unable to access child care on military installations

Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCIYN)

Supports military families with the cost of high-quality* child care outside military installations

Who is eligible?

  • Active duty (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) military families
  • Active Duty National Guard serving under Title 10 or Title 32, United States Code (U.S.C.) military families are eligible

Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood (ACCYN)

Supports military families with the cost of high-quality* child care outside select military installations

Who is eligible?

  • Active duty (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines) military families assigned to the following installations:

    Aberdeen, MD
    Fort Carson
    Col. Springs, CO
    Fort Meade
    Fort Meade, MD
    Fort Bliss
    El Paso, TX
    Fort Detrick
    Frederick, MD
    Fort Riley

Navy/Marine Corps Child Care in Your Neighborhood

Supports military families with the cost of high-quality* child care outside select military installations

Who is eligible?

  • Active duty (Navy, Marines) military families at the following locations: San Diego, Riverside, and Orange Counties.

Severely Injured Service Members

Provides families of severely injured service members with assistance to find and pay for safe, licensed child care services for a period of six months during their recuperation.

Who is eligible?

  • Severely injured service members nationwide; wherever the injured service member is receiving either in-patient or out-patient medical care.

*The following are programs that DoD defines as high-quality:

  • National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), National Accreditation Commission (NAC). or National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) accredited child care centers
  • National AfterSchool Association(NAA) accredited school-age programs
  • National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC) accredited family child care homes
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed FCC provider or Early Childhood Education or Child Development degreed FCC provider
