Washington, D.C. November 19, 2014 – Today, flanked by Senators and Representatives from both sides of the aisle, President Obama put pen to paper and signed S.1086, the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 2014, into law. After 18 years without any Congressional action, the Child Care and Development Block Grant has finally been reauthorized and revised to include basic provisions to improve the quality of child care nationwide.

Annual Report on the Cost of Care to be released December 4, 2014

The annual Parents and the High Cost of Child Care Report for 2014 will be released on December 4, 2014. Usually released in early November, this year’s movement in Congress on the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) has pushed the release date back one month. The reauthorization of CCDBG has been Child Care Aware of America’s top legislative priority for nearly two decades, and is scheduled for final consideration in the Senate on November 13.
