Get Help Finding and Paying for Child Care

Operation Military Child Care (OMCC)

The Operation Military Child Care program provides fee assistance for Families of Sailors who are deployed or attached to a ship for Sea Duty. Active duty orders are required to be submitted with the application for verification purposes.

Eligible providers for the OMCC fee assistance program must have a state child care license, a state inspection report dated within the last 12 months, and they must submit a complete provider fee assistance application. Once you have located a provider, please contact us to verify their eligibility (Applications for fee assistance will not be processed until the selected provider meets all program eligibility requirements and has submitted a complete application).

Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN)

The Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood program provides fee assistance for families of Active Duty Sailors who are unable to access on-installation child care. Families living within 15 miles or 20 minutes of on-installation child care must be on the waitlist before applying for fee assistance. If you have denied a spot within the past 12 months for either a base-sponsored Child Development Center or Child Development Home, you will not be eligible for fee assistance. Waitlist verification is subject to occur at the time of the initial application, annual recertification, or during change of provider request.

Eligible providers for the MCCYN fee assistance program must have a state child care license, a state inspection report dated within the last 12 months, a complete provider fee assistance application, and must meet additional high quality standards.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Respite Care

The EFMP program is specifically designed for Navy families who have children ages birth to 18 identified as Exceptional Family Members, category IV or V. The program provides 40 hours of respite care per month to support the unique child care needs of EFMP families.
