Lynette M. Fraga, Ph.D., Executive Director of Child Care Aware® of America, will present at the 40th Annual National Head Start Association Conference, April 30-May 3, 2013, in Washington, D.C.
Fraga will speak as part of the “Success Stories: Unique Ways Head Start Programs Maximize Local Resources” panel on Wednesday, May 1. Find out more about the conference.
The panel will highlight the similar goals that Child Care Aware® of America, Child Care Resource & Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) and Head Start have: to make sure children receive quality care and education and to empower families. Resources, current partnerships and best practices, and ways to form relationships with local CCR&Rs at the grantee level will also be discussed.
The state of America’s early childhood education system has been a compelling topic on the national scene recently, with President Obama calling for preschool for all children in his February State of the Union address. A new report released yesterday from the National Institute for Early Education Research showed the 2011-2012 school year was the worst in a decade for progress in access to high quality pre-k for America’s children.
