Breaking the Piggy-Bank: Parents and the High Price of Child CareNACCRRA's latest report, Breaking the Piggy-Bank: Parents and the High Price of Child Care, presents data on child care prices collected from a nationwide survey of State Child Care Resource and Referral Networks and local Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies. The report also analyzes findings from a series of 14 focus groups conducted with parents in seven sites across the country. The bottom line is that the cost of child care in America is prohibitively high. Quality, affordable child care should not be a dream. Increased state, federal and private investments in child care are required to make quality, affordable care a reality for families.
