This report examines QRIS standards for child care centers and family child care homes in the 19 states with state-wide QRIS to provide information about which QRIS level (or levels) in each state meet Department of Defense criteria for child care quality
This report presents data on child care prices collected from a nationwide survey of State Child Care Resource and Referral Networks and local Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies.
During NACCRRA’s 2009 National Policy Symposium, held March 10-14, in Washington, D.C., NACCRRA hosted 44 parents from across the country from 31 states. These dedicated parents traveled to our nation’s capitol to share their personal child care experiences directly with policymakers. The common thread throughout these stories is that parents want their children to be safe in child care. And, they want quality child care that is affordable.
We CAN Do Better: 2009 Update examined state child care center licensing regulations and the oversight of those regulations. NACCRRA scored and ranked states, the District of Columbia and the Department of Defense on 10 state child care center regulation benchmarks and 5 benchmarks for oversight of child care center licensing regulations. 
This 2009 report compares state licensing regulations for center-based child care and early learning programs with standards for state-funded prekindergarten initiatives. As a basis for comparison, it uses the quality standards checklist developed by the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER). The comparison also includes information about Head Start program standards and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations for military child care.
With nearly 12 million children under age 5 in some type of child care setting every week, the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) conducted a poll of over 1000 parents to find out their perceptions of child care, thoughts on minimum requirements for caregivers, the kind of care they use, including information on whether family or friends and neighbors are caring for their children, and if they are juggling work hours to take care of their children. Learn about what parents are looking for, what choices parents make, and what underlying assumptions they logically make.
This report takes an in-depth look at the services local Child Care Resource & Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) provide to parents in their local communities. The report reveals that CCR&Rs are making a major impact in the lives of families across the United States, serving parents in 99.3% of all populated zip codes.
Research shows that quality child care can have the greatest impact on low income children, but finding affordable and quality child care is one of the most critical challenges for families in economically disadvantaged communities. The National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) surveyed local Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agencies to gather data about the supply of licensed or regulated child care arrangements and the cost of such care within thirteen communities identified as economically challenged by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
NACCRRA's 2008 report compiles the results of a nationwide survey of grandparents about child care. The survey found that nearly 60 percent of grandparents are either providing care for their grandchildren or have in the past. Not only are they providing regular child care, but they are providing, back up care, sick care, before and after school care, as well as summer care.

This report compiles the results of a series of focus groups and a national poll of Latino parents on their thoughts and feelings about child care issues
States do not have regulations in place that protect children in small family child care homes, as indicated by this report. According to the report, only one state is meeting 75 percent of the basic requirements needed to ensure that children are in care that safeguards their health and safety and promotes development and learning.
This 2008 report examines the findings from NACCRRA's partnerships with the military. Since 2004, NACCRRA has conducted five major initiatives designed to help military families meet their child care needs. These initiatives provided NACCRRA with the opportunity to test whether the quality of civilian care can be improved by applying some of the strategies used to improve military child care.

Building upon the findings and recommendations of NACCRRA’s earlier report on Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) training, Knowledge Into Practice further illustrates that CCR&Rs are poised to support a national child care training and technical assistance network. The report details the results of NACCRRA’s national on-site technical assistance survey, provides a full review of the existing body of research on technical assistance, and includes an overview of the technical assistance support offered to child care programs receiving federal funds. The results of NACCRRA's national training survey indicate that Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agencies are poised to lead our nation in establishing a national community-based training system. The centerpiece of this report is a 12-point plan to create such a system - built from the existing infrastructure of CCR&R - to improve the quality of child care for all children in the United States. In addition to findings from the national CCR&R training survey, the report includes an overview of the impact of training on the quality of child care as evidenced by previous research. It also contains information about parents' and providers' views on training, and an overview of the effective training systems used by the U.S. Military and Head Start/Early Head Start.
The National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) announces the release of Parents and the High Price of Child Care: 2007 Update. The report provides typical prices of child care for infants and for four-year-olds in centers and family child care homes nationwide.
This report ranks every state (including the District of Columbia) and the Department of Defense on 15 basic criteria related to their current child care center standards and oversight. The results reveal that states fall short of meeting basic requirements needed to protect the health and safety of children in child care, and to promote their school readiness. The rankings are based on data from the 2005 Child Care Licensing Study: Final Report, produced by the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA) and the National Child Care Information and Technical Assistance Center (NCCIC).

This report compares the need for child care to its supply in 13 urban communities across the United States that are economically challenged. Funded in part by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, this research shows that, within these communities, the supply of licensed and regulated child care falls far short of the demand, and even if the supply were adequate, the high price of such care is far too expensive for many parents.
